What inspired you to give to the Atlanta Masjid Community Foundation, and what has kept you committed to supporting our mission over time?

My inspiration to give to the Atlanta Masjid Community Foundation stems from a sense of responsibility and obligation to a community that is very near and dear to me. As a lifelong member of our national community, with 25 of those years here in Atlanta, I am vested in supporting all things that are of benefit to the community. After hearing the vision and the inspiration of the foundation, I was honored to contribute in any way I could. I believe in the vision and trust those who are leading it. The success and continuous growth and development of the Foundation rests on our shoulders – the community members. As a member, my commitment to support will inshallah be a lifelong effort.

What are your greatest aspirations for the Atlanta Masjid Community?

I pray our community continues to build a legacy that will stand the test of time and serve as a model globally. I pray we continue to strengthen the bonds and knowledge exchange between generations. I pray our children, and our children’s children, and their children’s children have an even stronger drive to continue carrying the torch our pioneers lit, making it even brighter along the way.

What are you most excited to celebrate at the 70th Anniversary Gala?

I am most excited to celebrate the collective accomplishments that we’ll (Inshallah) see over the next 5 years. To have our children witness a community idea, that transitioned to a plan, the hard work and sacrifices made along the way, and be able to see the idea come to fruition, is priceless and definitely worth celebrating.
